From His Word

Joshua 24:15
"If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Prayer and Praise

  • God's Perfect Provision
  • Allow us to teach our children His ways
  • His pefect plan for children (brothers & sisters?)

Plugging Along!

by Rachel

We are doing just fine, up here in these there hills!

We had our first 'official' dusting of snow on the tippy tops of the mountains the other day....georgous stuff right there.

Never fear, it won't truly stick around 'down in town' till October.....this is just the precursor we get every year - I love it. Summer just about over....Helps me gear up for the next tasks at hand...namely home school! Ekkkkk! Pretty much the most challenging thing I face in my life at the moment. By God's grace, I'm going to give 3rd grade my best! Just heard today that some will be Co-Op-ing with me again this year - I rejoice greatly in God's hand in providing me help and support through that!!

Isaac heads to Mrs. Russell's class the day after Labor Day....Kindergarten! How can that possibly be?

Winter hibernation, here we come!! Grab your books and get cozy!

Be still my beating heart.....

We bow our knee to the King of Kings! Our lives, His glory, not our own.

These Days....

Isaac: "Jacob, today is MY kindergarten meet and greet, you know, even though you get to come.....Act NATURAL! o.k?!"

Jacob: "Oh, so you mean, 'Act like I'm not ever there?!?' Got it."

Hahahaha....The conversations are priceless.

The meet and greet, mentioned above, went very well. Isaac has 10 kids in his K-5 / 1st grade class. Hard to believe he is set to tackle Kindergarten this year! And what a switch with Mrs. Russell having a 'waiting list' of folks who want kids in her classes.....thinking back 4 years ago when you helped me pray her class into existence! God is so good and faithful....for that is His Nature. We meet with Jacob's class mates today...still praying through his 'extra curricular' classes..praying for just the right Jesus people to invest in his life...and in turn mine! Hooray for summer, Hooray for school, may we get up each day, in whatever season and glorify our Father God.

Still no news on the foster/adoption front....thanks for continued prayers!

Still no photos....

But I can give you a small update on 'us'.....We have an adoption phone call today at 3:00, to chat with our 'new' adoption counselor. Yea! That seemed to us to be a 'long time coming' but hopefully, we'll see some movement after today!

What a challenge this life is, the waiting, the being still, the plugging along, the circumstances that distract, the constant juggling of plans and work and relationships, the press on for continued sanctification - but what confidence and joy knowing that we serve a good God, one who "After these things....CAME....and spoke Fear not, I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." Genesis 15:1.

We rest. We walk, We trust.

Jacob gets to participate in a STEM class today....hooray for wetting that school whistle - that will be upon us before we know it! Isaac and I will have fun playing with 'the littles' while they are away. I hope you all are well - I think of and pray for those of you God brings to mind....
